The Newcastle Open is our club’s premier event in the competitive calendar year.

All five disciplines of badminton are contested – MS, WS, MD, WD and XD.

Multiple grades are offered (Open grade, A, B, C and D), meaning anyone from a beginner competitive level to the advanced player is encouraged to compete.

Competition games are organized based on a person’s skill level and not their age.

The Newcastle Open usually attracts players from all over the state including the Hunter region, Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast, and even Canberra.

This event in recent years has been sanctioned by Badminton NSW meaning national ranking points are awarded to players based on their final placings.

This in turn draws many high caliber players to our city including state and national representatives.

Arguably the Newcastle Open is the ideal opportunity to put your game to the test.
